This series of 9 paintings (works on paper) were painted in Hanoi,Viet Nam in 2002. Materials I used were graphite pencil, black Ink, white acrylic paint and blue biro on acid free paper. This is the first time they have been shown to the public outside of Viet Nam in 2003. At the time I entitled them simple "Unkown Objects". They were also originally preliminary paintings for a series of images based on Buddhas. While in Hanoi I bought a series of Vietnamese Stamps (all fakes as it turned out, although this did not matter one bit!) I never painted any of the intended Buddha images but a spanish photographer I met in Hanoi agreed that these paintings all looked like my very own personal conglomorate of unkown Buddhas!
